Mail-in instructions:

Please use this list to make sure you’ve included all six requirements to complete your application:

1. Fill out the application form. Your information should be legible and accurate. If you are a current Austin Independent School District (AISD) student, include your AISD student number found on your report card and have a parent or guardian sign this form. Download the 2019-2020 Application         2019-2020 Application - Spanish

2. Write a letter of application. This is a handwritten letter, minimum of two-pages, that should describe your academic interests, and why you want to be a part of the Advanced Academics Programs at Bedichek Middle School. Address the letter to Mrs. Danielle Sanchez, Advanced Academics Coordinator.

3. Include your STAAR scores from last year. See your current teacher or counselor for copies of your scores.

4. Include your report card. Be sure to turn in your recent report card with the first semester of grades along with your attendance record.

5. Obtain TWO teacher recommendations. Teacher recommendation forms are included in the application packet. You may turn in these forms, or your teachers may prefer to mail them directly to Mrs. Sanchez. We prefer a recommendation form from your English/Lauguage Arts teacher and one from your Math teacher. If you have only one teacher in these areas, please indicate this on the form and ask an elective teacher or a past teacher to complete the form.

6. Submit all materials to:

Transfer Policy Information

Here are the main things to know about transfers.

  1. The student must live in the AISD residency zone..
  2. Where a student attended elementary school does not impact in any way her/his ability to acquire a transfer.  No automatic transfers are given for attendance at any elementary school.
  3. If the student is zoned to Bedichek, then he/she will attend Bedichek regardless of whether or not he/she is accepted into an advanced academics program. No transfer is required.
  4. If the student is NOT zoned to Bedichek, then they have to have a transfer to attend.
  5. Types of MAC transfers:
    1. AISD employee transfer
    2. Curriculum transfer
      1. This transfer is only obtained through acceptance into the Einstein, Jr. or Entrepreneurship programs.
      2. After acceptance is reported from the campus, this transfer is done through the district office, Student Services, automatically.  No action is required from the student.
      3. A curriculum transfer supercedes any previous transfers received, and, therefore, any other transfer obtained at any time will be removed.

To see where your residence is in relation to school/district zoning, go to: AISD School Assignment by Residency

If you submit a transfer request for a priority or general transfer prior to applying to this program, acceptance into this program will supersede an approved priority or general transfer.
